My Life in Andalhuala

The volunteer’s free time can be spent integrating with the people of the village, listening to the endless stories and jokes that are told with such energy, getting lost in the everlasting plains of highland shrubbery and spending as much time alone or integrating with the community as they may wish. Residents have a wonderfully pure and innocent curiosity for strangers, and especially volunteers from Responde, and as a result are extremely easy to interact with.

Whilst the incomparable peace and unrivalled tranquility offered in Andalhuala are some of the many things that makes this placement so special, volunteers staying for prolonged periods may wish to visit the neighboring city, Santa María, which has a notable youth population and as a tourist hotspot offers a stark contrast to Andalhuala for a noisy weekend, before returning to the tranquility of the village.

My Life in Charra Ruca

Charra Ruca is a small town located to the north of the Neuquén
province, northwest of Patagonia. Like all rural towns, it is
characterized by an immense tranquility.

A great deficiency in the town is transportation: there are no means
of getting to a neighboring town that is slightly larger. This lack of
communication is compounded by the lack of internet access. It is
hoped that soon there will be connectivity in the town school and
later in the future  Responde center.
