The Application Phase
This phase is very important for the potential Revival volunteer, as he or she should read and understand all of the aspects that are involved in the program and all of the commitments that he or she will assume by participating.
Any doubts can be clarified by a member of the Revival team, who will be available via email at revival@responde.org.ar or on Skype programarevival
When the potential volunteer feels ready to apply, he or she can do so electronically. He or she must also send an email requesting a telephone interview with Responde. The interview can be conducted in English, French, or Spanish, depending on the language abilities of the potential volunteer.
The Revival program team will analyze the résumé sent by the potential volunteer, as well as their profile and expectations, with the aim of discussing some potential destination options and activities during the interview.
When a volunteer is accepted, he or she will have a first option of destination and activities. However, during his or her training period in Buenos Aires, new alternatives may arrive, which the volunteer can consider if he or she so desires.

The Introductory Phrase
This phase has an expected duration of one week and will take place in Responde’s offices in Buenos Aires.
During this phase, the volunteer will enter into the culture of the Organization and the country, which will allow for better preparation and general understanding once the work in a small town begins.
These activities require the volunteer’s presence in the office, with the aim of participating in institutional presentations of the various projects, work meetings, and time to investigate and read the existing documentation.
This period will allow for a better definition of the possible objectives and activities that can be undertaken during the volunteer’s stay.
The Field Work Phase
Volunteers, with their tasks assigned, will work where they agreed to with Responde (a small town or the Buenos Aires office)
Those who choose Buenos Aires as their destination must understand that they are joining an Organization with activities in progress and that they will have to adjust to its schedules and routines. Volunteers will work on activities related to the program fields: a) Education and Culture; b) Production and Employment; or to the areas of support: c) Communication and Press; d) Marketing and Fundraising, Design, Webmaster; e) International Assistant.
Among the possible activities of volunteers in small towns, there are General Tasks, where volunteers may introduce activities related to their personal or academic interests and also Specific Tasks, which are a key support for the programs that Responde has in the small town, and/or that strengthen the programs that the Institution started and are now in the hands of the townspeople.
In both possible destinations, the volunteers’ work will be supervised by the manager of that program or area, who will be available for whatever questions or doubts
that the volunteers have about the work they have chosen to complete.
In the presence of any situation that requires advice or guidance, the volunteer can always depend on the Revival program Coordinator.
The villages are remote places where it is often difficult to find fast and/or reliable communication. It’s very important to be aware of this and volunteers must be prepared to feel isolated at times.
The Closure Phase
This Phase includes a preparatory stage and a final stage.
The preparatory stage does not require being present in the Buenos Aires office and involves:
- Preparation of the final presentation in two languages (English and Spanish)
- Response to the “Final Volunteer Questionnaire”
- Preparation of a presentation of results (oral with a PPT for in front of the members of the NGO)
The final stage takes place in the Buenos Aires Responde offices during the final week of the volunteer’s stay. During these days the volunteer:
- Has meetings with whoever has been their supervisor.
- Individual meeting centering on the “Final Questionnaire”
- Finalizes their final report and Power Point Presentation
- Presents the results of their work in a meeting with some members of Responde.
- Debriefing and evaluation by Responde.
- Prepares the final documentation.
